Imphal, December 11 2010:
Amid boycott call of NYF against the visit of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh to the closing ceremony of the annual Orange Festival at Tamenglong district headquarters on December 12 security steps have been beefed up to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
On the otherhand, the Chief Minister is informed to be undetered by the boycott call and is determined to attend the grand finale even if it means travelling by road, in case the planned chopper flight to the venue do not materialise due to inclement weather.

In view of the CM's visit and likely presence of high profile personalities at the festival, apart from deployment of central paramilitary force, State security personnel in adequate strength reached the district headquarters this evening.
In addition to 90 personnel of police commandos led by ADGP V Zathang stationed at the district headquarters, personnel of four Manipur Rifles battalion and from the 6 IRB have been deployed at strategic locations.
As a part of the two day Festival, a daylong conference for orange growers was also organised by Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department at Tamenglong Indoor Stadium today where the focus was on prevention of plant diseases for bumper harvest.
