Imphal, February 22 2022:
With government bulletins reporting 42 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1478 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the daily test positivity rate dropped to 2.84 per cent on Tuesday against 4.70 per cent recorded on Monday.
It is the lowest since January 7 which reported 2.44 per cent positivity rate.
Tuesday also reported three death cases which took number of toll from the pandemic to 2104 .
They were residents of Imphal East, Imphal West and Tamenglong districts.
Two of them had received first dose of Covid vaccine while the remaining one was unvaccinated.
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 186 vaccinated persons of which 56 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 92 patients were discharged from home isolation (70), RIMS (5), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (11) .
The active case came down to 596 out of which 311 (42.18 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 266 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 113 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, six did not report any fresh Covid cases on Tuesday.
So far, the state has recorded 10,760 positive cases and 102 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 3292 new positive cases and 58 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 516 and 18 respectively.
According to official reports, the 42 fresh cases included 41 people (26 male & 15 female) from among the general population and one Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) jawan, whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (4), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (35) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (11), Imphal West (15), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1), Senapati (2), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (3) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,548 while number of recovered cases is 1,33,848 (general population - 1,28,871 and CAPF personnel - 4,977) and number of active cases is 596 (general population - 577).The recovery rate is 98.02 per cent.
A total of 242 D-type and 86 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours and 6279 vaccine doses administered on Monday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 15,01,045, out of which 11,18,186 had received second doses and 56,342 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,532), Imphal East (30,320), Thoubal (10,114), Churachandpur (11,024), Kangpokpi (3116), Tamenglong (3461), Bishnupur (9787), Senapati (2470), Ukhrul (3243), Kakching (6853), Chandel (2684), Noney (1149), Tengnoupal (1189), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1032) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (701), Imphal East (507), Thoubal (187), Churachandpur (167), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (204), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (121), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,005 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,560 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,05,010 tests per.million population against the national average of 5,42,869 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.71 per cent.
