Imphal, February 22 2022:
All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association, Imphal has urged the authorities concerned to implement a new policy programme with regards to the recommencing of physical classes in schools across the State.
In a statement, All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association said that the vaccination drive for 15-18 year old students across private schools of Manipur has concluded successfully and online exams for Class I-VIII have ended as well.
Further, other States in the country have begun taking up steps to resume offline classes.
At this juncture, the Association has urged the State Government to allow the private schools in the State to resume offline classes so that the academic career of the students may be saved from further harm.
The statement also shared that online classes cannot provide quality education.
On top of this, financially insecure families do not have the means to provide smartphones for their children or purchase internet packs on a regular basis.
Further, remote areas in the State have inadequate mobile networking facilities.
For all these reasons, there is a need for physical classes to recommence as soon as possible, the statement appealed.
The statement also informed that on February 9 representatives of the Association had participated in the vaccination drive along with the Governor and Director of Education Department and the interaction programme conducted on February 11 at City Convention Centre detailing the role of schools in vaccination campaigns without disrupting the academic process.
