Attacking JDU polling booth act of cowardice: Th Brinda

JDU candidate in Yaiskul AC Th Brinda has strongly condemned the destruction caused to JDU polling booth constructed at 14/6 polling station of the AC at Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal.
Informing media persons about the incident on Tuesday at her residence, Th Brinda said that 14/6 polling booth was found ransacked on Monday night and the unidentified miscreants not only tore down posters and banners but also sprayed colours and removed flags erected at the booth.
The attack carried out in the middle of night while taking advantage of presence of no one around was an act of cowardice.
According to Th Brinda, there had been numerous cases of workers of other candidates threatening her supporters but she remained silent to avoid election related violence.
She also said that one of her workers was threatened by some people coming in an olive-green colour vehicle (Maruti Gypsy) on February 17 evening in front of Yumnam Leikai Lairembi to stop working for her and support BJP.
Apart from this, a numberless vehicle followed one of her workers' vehicles to cause unwanted incident but remained silent on these threats to prevent violence.
However, the Monday night's incident at Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal was very unfortunate and the attack is condemnable in the strongest term, she said and strongly called for ensuring a free and fair election in Yaiskul AC .
