83 new cases detected, caseload dips below 700

Only 83 new cases were detected in the state out of 1671 samples tested on Friday registering a positivity rate of 4.97 per cent against 5 per cent recorded on Thursday.
Two death cases were also reported on Friday which took the fatality toll to 2092 .
They were residents of Imphal West and Bishnupur district.
One of them had received first dose of Covid vaccine and the other unvaccinated.
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 182 vaccinated people of which 55 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 151 patients were discharged from home isolation (73), RIMS (3), JNIMS (10) and CCCs (17) .
However, IDSP report added 1385 discharged cases, which were pending for update and calculated the total discharged cases as 1488, consequently bringing down the caseload to 687 out of which 352 (51.24 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 257 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 96 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, four did not report any fresh Covid cases on Friday.
So far, the state has recorded 10534 positive cases and 90 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 3066 new positive cases and 46 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 684 and 15 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 83 fresh cases (40 male & 43 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (3), JNIMS (11) and other testing centres (69) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (17), Imphal West (30), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (5), Kangpokpi (3), Tamenglong (3), Ukhrul (6), Noney (3), Senapati (2), Chandel (3) and Churachandpur(2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,322 (general population - 1,31,321 and CAPF personnel - 5,001) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,33,543 (general population - 1,28,583 and CAPF personnel - 4,960) and number of active cases is 687 (general population - 653 and CAPF personnel - 34) .
The recovery rate is 97.96 per cent.
A total of 256 D-type and 99 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 6377 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 14,94,032, out of which 11,07,431 had received second doses and 53,892 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48450), Imphal East (30267), Thoubal (10098), Churachandpur (11015), Kangpokpi (3110), Tamenglong (3454), Bishnupur 9768), Senapati (2463), Ukhrul (3232), Kakching (6847), Chandel (2680), Noney (1148), Tengnoupal (1185), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1031), and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (699), Imphal East (502), Thoubal (187), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (15), Bishnupur (203), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (120), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,932 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,512 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,03,153 tests per million population against the national average of 5,39,804 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.53 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1671 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 4.97 per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.73 per cent.
