President leaves Imphal

Imphal, April 16 2013:
Winding up his 2-day visit to the State, President of India Dr Pranab Mukherjee has left Imphal a special flight of Indian Air Force K 5014 at 9:35 am today.
The President arrived here by the same flight in the evening yesterday amid boycott and bandh call by various UG groups.
Governor of Manipur, Gurbachan Jagat, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, Chief Secretary DS Poonia and GP Y Joykumar accompanied the President to see him off till Tulihal Airport, Imphal.
During his trip to the state, Dr Mukherjee participated in the diamond jubilee celebration of Adim Jati Sikhsha Ashram, Chingmeirong here.
He also inaugurated an amity hall and another girls' hostel, apart from laying the foundation stones for tribal boys' hostel and tribal working women's hostel.
He halted a night at Raj Bhavan.
From Imphal, the President would be heading to Gangtok, Sikkim.
Dr Mukherjee will arrive at Bagdogra Airport in West Bengal on Tuesday and from there he will fly to Gangtok in an MI-17 chopper of IAF, official sources said.
