Lamka, April 16 2013:
Parlia-mentary Secretary, Vungzagin Valte was today felicitated here by hundreds of his ardent supporters, barely a week after the first-time MLA received three coveted national awards from the Friendship Forum of India at New Delhi.
Valte was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Arch for Excellence Award, the Bharat Excellence Award and Northeaster Personalities Award by the FFI on April 7 during a National seminar on Economic Growth and National Unity held at CD Deshmukh Memorial Auditorium, India International Centre, New Delhi.
The newly elected representative from Thanlon AC has, during his felicitation, told the gathering that the FFI's award was beyond his fancy while expressing sincere gratitude to the forum for acknowledging whatever little initiatives he had taken up to uplift his people.
'I was informed of being short-listed among the probable awardees by the FFI with a request to fill a form for further perusal but before I could even fill that form, I receive a call informing me about the FFI deciding to confer me three coveted awards of the forum,' he said on how he happened to be an awardee of the FFI.
Though I refrain myself from supplying the documents demanded by the forum, they have managed to collect a posse of information on me including my speech at Mumbai while receiving the State Bank of India's award when I was with them,
he said.
He promised the hundreds of his followers attending the felicitation ceremony that he would continue to work for their upliftment so long as he live, and thanked them for being there for him in good and bad times.
Valte's central election committee along with some individuals co-hosted a grand feast for all the people gathered during the felicitation.
