Opposition begins stir against Government

As announced earlier, eleven Opposition parties in the State have begun agitation against the State Government over the various issues afflicting the State from today.
On the first day of the agitation, the eleven Opposition parties namely CPI, Manipur People's Party (MPP), Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP), JD (U), CPI (M), AITC, Siva Sena, Manipur State, BSP and FB organized a public meeting here to discuss various issues confronting the State including rising crimes against women, the prevailing corruption and drugs and their impact on the society.
Dr M Nara, secretary, Manipur state CPI, Sovakiran, president, MPP, Dr L Chandramani, ex-deputy Chief Minister, advisor of Manipur state JD (U), L Haokip and advisor of All India Trinamool Congress were among others who attended and spoke at the meeting.
Dr Nara accused Manipur Government of not taking up appropriate measure to curb crimes like rape, drug smuggling and rampant corruption which are very high in the state.
He also blamed Manipur Government for the alleged prevalent of lawlessness in the state.
Dr Nara further announced that the public meeting will be organized further in different parts of the state.
