Sit-In-Protest staged against assault of 3 youths

Meira Paibis' of Uripok Bachaspati Laikai, Uripok Bachaspati Maning Laikai and Uripok Sinam Leikai today staged a sit-in-protest at Uripok Bachaspati Leikai Community Hall against the brutal assault on (3) three youth of the locality on the night of November 7 by unknown miscreants using arm weapon.
Angom (O) Padmani Devi, one of the local Meira Paibi claims that on the night of November 7, the 3(three) youth of the leikai itself were brutally assaulted by some unknown miscreants of around 10 persons when they were buying some stuff at a nearby shop.
The assailant had use arm weapons and even blank fire of around 8 live rounds.
On hearing the noise of the incident, locals rush to the spot where they were able to capture one of the assailants along with the use arm weapon while the rest manage to escape taking the advantage of the darkness, she added.
The apunba meira paibi demands the concern authority to capture the culprits who are responsible for the incident and bring into punishment as per the law of the land at the earliest.
Placards were also put up condemning the incident.
The injured 3 youth of the locality has been identified as Chingakham Gonao (22) s/o C Biren of Uripok Bachaspati Maning Leikai, Thounaojam Bicky (24) s/o T Lemba and Angom Stephen (26) s/o (L) A Bijoykumar, both from Uripok Bachaspati Leikai.
All there were taken at Shija hospital and two of them have been discharge as their injuries were minor while Bicky is still at Shija hospital waiting to undergo surgery as he suffer major injury on his head and body.
One of the Unknown assailants who were captured by the local has been identified as one Nongmaithem Inaoba from Tera.
He also suffered some injuries and had been admitted at RIMS and since then he has been absconding.
A case has been registered at Imphal Police Station.
