Imphal, November 05 2011:
Titular king of Manipur Leishemba Sanajaoba today welcomed the decision of the SHDDC to suspend its indefinite economic blockade following his appeal and the assurance of the state government.
Speaking to reporters legal advisor of the king Advocate P Tomcha said that the Royal Council supports the demand of the SHDDC for a full-fledged Sadar Hills District and the King will provide maximum supports in providing the long awaited demand of the Sadar Hills people.
He said that the real solution of the current impasse lies with the Centre.
It is also the duty of the Centre to provide adequate supply of petrol, diesel, kerosene, LPG and other essential commodities.
Instead of doing its own duty, the Centre is using the state government as a pawn, he alleged.
The present response of the Centre on the current impasse is a condemnable one.
He questioned to the Centre the reason of the Union Home Minister going back without meeting the public of the state in such situation.
