All-pol party committee meets top brass of Session & Labor Dept on ILP

The all-political party committee constituted to look into the collective demand for implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the State convened a meeting with top officials of Session Department and Labor Department today at the committee's office located inside Assembly Secretariat regarding implementation of ILP.
The meeting presided over by Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who is also the Chairman of the committee discussed at length the rampant influx of outsiders into the State which has posed a serious threat to the indigenous people.
It also discussed a report prepared on the number of outsiders surpassing the total population of different tribes of the State.
Speaking to media persons in connection with the meeting, MLA RK Anand who is the convener of the committee said that the committee has asked Deputy Labor Commissioner, E Tomba who represented Labor Department in the meeting to appear before the committee's office on October 7 with a detailed report on the issue of ILP as the report tabled by the Dy Labor Commissioner on the issue during the meeting was inconclusive.
As the Session Department which is under Ministry of Home Affairs was also unable to produce a vivid report on the issue during the meeting, the committee also urged the department to come up with a clear report on population of Meitei, tribal and Muslim in the State at the earliest.
The committee will meet WA Shisak, former Chief Justice of Chattisgarh; Rishang Keishang, ex-Chief Minister and RK Dorendro, ex-CM on October 3 to be followed by another meeting with Radhabinod Koijam, ex-CM; Dr L Chandramani, ex-Deputy CM and O Joy, ex-Minister on October 8 to discuss the issue of ILP which has led to widespread protests from several organizations and public.
