Oldest Monsang man passes away

Imphal, July 07 2013:
Upa Kiirii Ngamnar Monsang, the former Chief of Monsang Pantha village, and unarguably, the oldest man in Monsang community, passed away at his Monsang Pantha village residence under Chandel district at around 10 pm yestersay.
He was 102 .
According to a statement, Ng Benithan, President of Monsang Tribe Union, Manipur (SirtiUpa Ruh), late Upa Kiirii Ngamnar Monsang was born in 1911 and he was one of the Monsang leaders who had contributed a lot to Monsang community during his lifetime.
He is not only the oldest man to have lived in Monsang community but also among the different tribes settling in Chandel district.
The Monsang Tribe Union while paying homage and honour to the demise conducted his Funeral and Condolence Service which was held today at his residence at Monsang Pantha Village, Chandel.
The funeral and condolence service was attended by all the Monsang people, it added.
