People from all sections of the society in the State have come up against the decision of the State Cabinet, and if the State Government is persistent on taking over Sana Konung forcefully, then a serious and intense agitation would be launched, Tomba warned.
He further informed that MEELAL will fully support any agitation taken up with heart and soul and see that the decision of the State Cabinet is revoked.
If at all the State Government is so serious in protecting and preserving age old structures related to the history of Manipur, then why should not it protect and preserve the Lanthabal Palace where the king of Manipur had once ruled?, he questioned.
"In fact, there are various other places in the State which could be protected and preserved under the Historical Monument Act.
But Sana Konung is a living palace where the King still lives and it cannot be turned into a museum", he added.
