Imphal, July 07 2013:
For the first time in Manipur, Transesophageal Echocar-diogram (TEE) equipment capable of taking echocar-diogram as well as ultrasound has been installed in Sky Hospital and Research Centre, RIMS Road.
TEE is a sophisticated equipment which can display structure, functions and interior image of heart thereby helping in a big way in diagnosing and treating heart problems.
The inaugural function of the equipment held at Sky Hospital was graced by Education Minister M Okendro, MLA D Korungthang and Sky Group of Hospital chairman Dr Shyamkishore as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, M Okendro remarked that everyone ought to appreciate the efforts of distinguished medical professional like Dr L Shyamkishore who is committed to provide world class health to the people of Manipur.
He also expressed his hope that successful Manipuri professionals who have made their names in many Indian cities and abroad would come back to their home State and take leading roles in the fields of health care, education and industries.
Claiming that self-reliance in terms of health care, education and food are the primary targets of the incumbent Government, Okendro stated that he was satisfied on learning about opening TEE facility in Sky Hospital.
Dr L Shyamkishore asserted that human values are equal whether one is a British citizen or a Manipuri.
Guided by this principle, Sky Hospital is determined not to compromise in health care.
Korungthang stated mental tensions caused by different factors have been multiplying heart problems in Manipur.
He said that he was glad on learning about the availability of world class equipment in Manipur for treating heart problems.
