All-political party committee seeks views from Retd.CJ on ILP issue

The all-political party committee constituted to look into the ongoing demand for implementation of Inner Line Permit System on Saturday held a meeting with Retd.Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, RK Manisana and sought his views on implementation of the system in the State which is the long standing demand of the people.
The meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who is also the Chairman of the committee discussed threadbare the possible steps that can be taken up to implement a system to monitor the rampant influx of outsiders into the State which has posed a serious threat to the existence of the indigenous people.
It may be mentioned here that the committee in its series of meetings had already sought legal views from experts of All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) and High Court Bar Association which are considered vital as far as implementation of ILP system in the State is concerned.
Following the meetings, the committee has already recorded views and suggestions given by the experts.
After views from all the concerned experts were sought, the committee will prepare a report on the matter and submit it to the government.
The government after examining the report thoroughly will take up necessary measures to put into action possible steps mentioned in the report.
Earlier in its meetings, the committee also discussed on sending some of its members to northeastern States like Meghalaya where the ILP system had already been put in place to inspect how the system was put in place.
