Madrassa teachers caution

Teachers of different Madrassas of the State have cautioned the State Government and Wakf Board that they would launch different forms intense agitation including self immolation if their due salary for 18 months is not cleared before Id-ul-Juha festival.
Speaking at a press conference held at their Minuthong Zoumi Villa office, All Madrassa Modernisation Teachers Welfare Association president Arshad Ali urged the Government to announce a concrete statement on the matter within September 29 .
If the association does not get a positive response from the Government and Wakf Board within this given time, association members would launch an intense agitation including self immolation from September 30, he cautioned.
Arshad Ali said that the Government recruited 150 teachers of different subjects for different Madrassas of the State in November 2011 .
After their recruitment, five teachers each have been taking class in 30 Madrassas, he said and added that the Government however stopped paying salary to these teachers after March 2013 .
The teachers had complained the matter to authority concerned on many occasions, however nothing has been responded so far, he added.
As such, he urged the Government to clear their due salary before Id-ul-Juha, which falls on October 6 .
