Rotary Club conducts mega health camp at Ukhrul

Ukhrul, November 19 2018:
Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal conducted a one day mega health camp at Shangshak Primary School in Ukhrul district yesterday as part of its community service project.
More than 500 villagers were given free health checkup.
The mega health camp was unprecedented in the club's history as facilities for free diabetes screening, mobile dental clinic, portable ECG were given to the villagers.
During the camp, several villagers were found to have high blood sugar levels.
Specialist for orthopaedics, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, dental and medicine examined the villagers.
Speaking on the sideline of the camp, president of Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal, Rtn Pradeep Meitram said that the camp was organized keeping in mind the club's target of reaching the far-flung and interior villages both in the hills and the valley, where medical facilities are limited.
He further added that since the inception of the club in 2010, the club had already organized several free health camps at different districts of the State including Churachandpur, Bishenpur, Tamenglong, Tengnoupal and Kangpokpi.
Secretary Rtn Joybi Heikrujam, past presidents and many other members attended the camp as volunteers.
In connection with the success of the mega health camp, the president lauded JNIMS authority, Ukhrul District NCD Cell, 17 Assam Rifles, Ukhrul district MLA Alfred Kanngam Arthur, Kangla Diagnostics and other individuals for their valuable support.
Medicines were also provided free of cost to the villagers during the camp.
The villagers also expressed their happiness and gratitude to the club for conducting the camp.
