Indrakumar cruises into quarter final of ITT Sr Grade-4 Tennis tourney

Imphal, November 19 2018:
Khangembam Indrakumar Singh has moved into the quarter final of the men's above 35 years competition at the ITF Senior Grade-4 Tennis Tournament which kicked off today at Officer's Club tennis Court located at Lamphelpat, Imphal West.
The tournament organised by Manipur Tennis Association under the supervision of Indian Tennis Federation is featuring 14 players in the above 35 years of age category, 19 in above 45 years and 22 in the above 55 years category.
The first day saw Khangembam Indrakumar seal a 6-3, 3-6, 61 win over Leishangthem Jiten Meitei to advance into the quarter finals of the above 35 years category competition.
In other above 35 years category matches Zaidi S thrashed Laishram Satyajit Singh 6-2, 6-3 while Allam Surendra outlasted Deb Arindum with a comfortable 6-1, 6-1 win.
Sridhar Ratheesh got a walk over in another match while Dinesh Chandra secured a 7-5, 6-2 win over Lakshmipathi Tulugu to move into quarter finals.
Deepak Marwaha also got a walk over to seal the last 8 round berth.
Above 45 years
Hatinder Panwar trounced Randeep Barua 6-0, 6-1 to set up quarter final clash with Sameer Garg who managed a 6-0, 7-5 win over Daniel Palmei in another clash of the above 45 years men's singles competition.
Navin Agarwal also booked the quarter final berth of the competition registering 6-3, 6-3 win over Pankaj Kumar Sharma.
Ningtamba Rajkumar moved into the pre-quarter final stage (Second round) of the competition beating Sanatomba Huidrom 6-0, 6-4 while S William Lamhno edged out Bulbul Das 6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-1 to moved into second round.
S Reddy Dandala also moved into the second round with a 5-7, 6-1, 13-11 win over Yogesh Kohli in another first round clash.
Above 55 years
Suresh Murthati outlasted Bharat Phukan 6-3, 6-1 to become the first person in the above 55 yrs men's singles competition today.
In the first round clashes, Yumnam Ibotombi Singh overwhelmed Harsh Kumar Sharma 6-2, 6-1 while Sunil Sood outlasted BK Sonowal 6-1, 6-0 to move into the second round of the competition.
Mridulal Barkakoti registered a 6-1, 7-5 win over Sashankar Hidangmayyum while Gurvinder Singh Sethi got the better of Oinam Nabakishore Singh in straight sets (6-1, 7-5) to move into second round.
