ZPCC appeals to uphold UNC decision

Zeliangrong People's Coordination Committee (ZPCC) has appealed to all Nagas/ Zeliangrong people living in different parts of Manipur to uphold the decision of United Naga
Council and render maximum cooperation and support for effective observance of the 48-hr total bandh being called from midnight of June 16 to midnight to June 18 .
Issuing a statement in this regard, AK Embros, Info & Publicity Secy of ZPCC stated that as per the directive of UNC, ZPCC is ready to observe 48 hours total bandh in Naga areas.
However, all religious functions and emergency services such as electricity, medical, water supply, fire service, etc would be exempted from the purview of the bandh, the statement added.
Meanwhile, according to another statement issued by D.Apung, State Secretary of Zeliangrong Baudi (Manipur), the bandh is being imposed against the attitude of the Government of Manipur in opposing the uniqueness of Naga history and its position.
It may be noted here that Zeliangrong Baudi has earlier announced its decision to endorsethe UNC-sponsored total bandh and urged all the people of Zeliangrong community stay at home during the bandh.
