AR enabled brighter future for 105 candidates from hills

10 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR coordinated and facilitated examination as well as selections at Ukhrul through Jettwings, a Guwahati based institute for young students to join the aviation and hospitality sectors.
This initiative of Assam Rifles has enabled selection of 64 candidates in 2018 and 105 candidates in 2019 from Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, said a press release issued by PRO, IGAR.
The training of these candidates is fully sponsored under Government's Skill India Mission.
Assam Rifles has stepped in as enabler and coordinated with the institute to send it's teams to Ukhrul for the selections.
Assam Rifles has been encouraging youth from remote border villages to appear for the exams and guiding them to prepare for the interviews.
An orientation cum guidance program was organised for the selected students who would be undergoing one year diploma in Aviation and Hospitality (which is starting in October 2019).The orientation cum guidance program was organised at Assam Rifles post in Ukhrul by the joint efforts of Assam Rifles and Tangkhul Student Organisation.
The event was attended by around 150 candidates and their guardians.
The program included lecture by professional counsellors on career in aviation, hospitality and tourism.
Also, professional make-up artists taught the nuances of make-up, grooming and skin care regime to the aspiring trainees.
The Assam Rifles expressed their felicitations to the selected candidates.
