To clear the air surrounding the mysterious death of a pregnant woman at a village located in Tamei sub-division, Tamenglong district, police picked up the body (which was undergoing necessary processes to be buried) and deposited it at RIMS where a post mortem examination was conducted today.
According to a reliable source, the deceased woman, identified as late Khamjianliu Panmei (24) w/o Kesunglung Newmai, died at Langpram village on September 21 .
After getting reports of the woman's death a little late, her parents who lived at Duiluan Part II, reached Langpram village the next day but they found that all works for burying their daughter had been finished swiftly.
The woman's family filed a complaint to Tamei PS due to the suspicious conduct and subsequently police picked up the body and brought it to RIMS.
The source continued that after the post mortem was conducted, Khamjianliu's body was taken to Duiluan but the unborn baby inside her was taken away to Langpram.
The source further explained that late Khamjianliu and her husband had been living together at Langpram without getting married (as per the norms) as they had eloped and she was around 9 months pregnant.
The couple had some arguments on September 20 and that day Khamjianliu did not eat anything.
The next day, she reportedly mentioned that she was not feeling well but by the end of the day, she was dead, the source explained.
The source further continued that the news of Khamjianliu's death was given to her sister living in Chennai through phone and added that till now, the husband of the deceased and his family are nowhere to be found.
