Elderly divorcee murdered for property?

Imphal, July 20 2015 :
An elderly woman, Nameirakpam Tamubi (65) was allegedly murdered by her close relatives with the motive of grabbing her properties.
Police have arrested five persons.
Three of them are said to be involved in the crime.
She had returned to the parental home about 10 years back following domestic disputes.
The incident took place on Friday at her parental home at Loitang Khullen.
The arrested persons were identified as Irom Apabi (68) her elder brother, Hijam Suraj (25) her son in law, Thaja, her own daughter.
Two daughters of Thaja were also taken into custody.
The family members had joined the search teak of the local residents.
However on Monday there was no family member.
The suspicious residents scoured the homestead to find that loose earth had been piled up near the bamboo grove at the backside.
There they found the dead body of the woman wrapped in an old bed sheet.
Her legs and hands were trussed.
The hastily dug pit was just three feet deep.
Local residents said that her only son had died some years ago.
The motive for the crime may be to usurp the paddy fields and homestead she owns.
Police and forensic teams had come to the spot.
The Sekmai police station has registered a case.
