CLP recommends judicial inquiry into Sapam Robinhood's killing

In a significant game change, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) which met on Monday in the office of the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi recommended to institute a judicial inquiry into the killing of Sapam Robinhood.
It will be headed by a retired high court judge.
Two other important resolutions were taken, according to Gaikhangam who briefed the reporters late on Monday night.
The CLP felt that it will take one month for the Government to prepare the new bill passed.
If the JAC and the JCILPS participate in the talks, the time frame could be shortened.
The meeting also said that the cabinet should take the CLP resolution to issue a Government order and Gaikhangam said that it will be done as soon as possible.

Gaikhangam appealed the people to call off the agitation as the Government is planning to lift curfew.
Ibobi called the emergency meeting of CLP to discuss the widespread ILP protest on Monday afternoon.
The meeting started at 3 pm at the Secretariat Hall of the CM's Office.
The main agenda discussed by the Congress MLAs was the current agitation for the demand of ILP system in Manipur and the demands of the JAC formed in connection with the death of Sapam Robinhood.
