Election of three Financial Committees will be held on July 10, the last day of the Monsoon Session, Chief Minister O Ibobi who is also in-charge of Finance said after the motion was moved in the House on Wednesday.
The Financial Committees are Committee on Public Accounts, Committee on Estimates and Committee on Public Undertakings.
In response to the question raised by MLA L Nandakumar, IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip said that constitution of retaining wall on the left bank of Nambul river from Eroishemba to Naoremthong in Imphal West under funding from NABARD has awarded 22 works.
Out of this, the minister informed, 14 works have been completed so far, adding the department has been constantly insisting the involved agencies to complete the unfinished works on or before December 31, 2015 .
He said that in addition to non-completion of the river bank with stone boulders, damaged gates of culverts are the main reasons for overflowing of Nambul river water towards Lamphelpat area.
The matter of fixing the date of oath-taking ceremony for the recently elected ADC members is under process, informed Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam in a reply to a question raised by MLA Dikho in the House.
In response to a question by MLA L Ibomcha, Commerce & Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam said the National Mission on Food Processing (NMFP) has been implementing since 2012-13 in Manipur and the financial pattern was 90:10 between the Centre and State upto 2014-15 .
The scheme is delinked from the Central Government to States during 2015-16 with effect from 1-4-2015 as announced by the Union Minister on February 28, 2015 in the Parliament, Govindas said.
The Chief Minister who is also in-charge of DP while replying to a question from MLA Th Shyamkumar said as per the records available in DP, four officers were re-engaged on contract basis after their superannuation.
The Government is yet to notify the number of cities/towns included under the Smart Cities Mission in Manipur and one potential Smart City earmarked for Manipur by the Government of India.
Name of the cities included in the Smart Cities Mission is yet to be decided.
This was stated by Ibobi, who is also holding the MAHUD portfolio in the House in response to a question by MLA Dr I Ibohalbi.
There are 64 vacant posts of police inspectors in Manipur Police (male/civil) to be promoted from sub-inspectors in the Department.
The Government has already recommended the matter regarding the promotion to MPSC however it was postponed as per the decision taken by the Government to first take up the case of promotion from inspectors to MPSC-II (DSP) so that fresh vacancies so created could also be included in the DPC.
This was informed by Home Minister Gaikhangam in the Assembly while replying to a question from MLA Dr I Ibohalbi.
Relying to another question raised by MLA Th Shyamkumar, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Minister Govindas Konthoujam said during the recent outbreak of Bird Flu in the Sate the department has taken up measures and culled 19,965 chickens, 803 ducks and 2,365 eggs were destroyed.
But no compensation was given till date, the minister said.
He further informed the House that reports have been submitted to the concerned ministry at the Centre.
