Govt planning to provide good health care system: CM

State Chief Minister Okram Ibobi today stated that the government is planning to provide good health care system to the people of remote far flung areas of the state.
He was speaking as Chief Guest in the inaugural function of the three days 22nd North East Obstretic and Gynaecological Societies Conference (NEOGSCON 2011 organised by the Imphal Obstretic and Gynaecological Society Manipur at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Porompat Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, Ibobi said that the Centre is paying special attention in the North East India to provide a better health care system.
In this regard, the govenrment has established seven District Hospitals and many Community Health Centres, Primary Health Centres and Primary Health Sub Centres in the state besides RIMS and JNIMS which provide a good health care system and educate many young medical students of the state.
However, there is still a long way to go to develop health care system in the far flung villages of the state, he said.
Doctors have a major role to play in the successful implementation of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) which aims at providing good health care systems to remote villages.
It is very much important for the government to provide quality health care system to save the people, especially those belonging to BPL families, from various preventable diseases, Ibobi added.
Director, JNIMS, Dr Leishangthem Chandramani presided over the inaugural function while Organising Chairman, NEOGSCON Dr N Jitendra and Organising Secretary Dr Ng Indrakumar attended as Guests of Honours.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi released a souvenir and honoured two senior Obstretic and Gynaecologist doctors as part of the conference.
