Let's make collective effort to bring peace, appeals KSO

Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) General Headquarters President Paotin Lupheng on Thursday appealed all to make collective effort in bringing peace in Manipur.
The KSO President was speaking to the media at a press meet held in Imphal.
The press meet was attended by representatives of various student organisations.
While speaking to the media, Paotin Lupheng appealed all to join hands so as to avoid emergence of ethnic conflict.
He requested the public not to resort to actions which could fan further differences besides halting the spread of rumours.
"There is a need to live and maintain cordial ethnic relationship", said the KSO President while requesting the public also not to resort to strikes and bandhs.
Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) President M Angamba who was also present during the press meet, condemned the killing of two labourers by Kuki Revolutionary Front (KRF) cadres.
He said such incidents should be avoided by all in future and asserted that those responsible for the brutal act should be punished under the relevant law of the land.
The DESAM President said that there should be a collective effort to maintain peace and cordial relation between communities in the State.
He also urged the Government of Manipur to take a firm decision and deploy required security forces in the sensitive areas so as to create an atmosphere of peace.
All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) Organisation Secretary L Anil; Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) representative Nandababu; SUK Publicity Secretary Supreme Ningthouja and PSO General Secretary Saddam Hussain attended the press meet.
