The proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) and its armed wing, the PLA, have greeted the people of the state on the occasion of 'Mera Houchongba' which falls on Sunday.
A greeting message issued by the publicity secretary of RPF, T Leishemba observed that the festival is not an ordinary one while saying that it is a significant festival which symbolises love and brotherhood of the people.
It stated that the festival is an occasion where both the brothers - who were separated as the younger brother lives in the valley while the elder lives in the hills - celebrate once in a year and show their brotherhood since ages.
The RPF statement appealed all concerned to strive to coexist in peace by constantly remembering the important events of history.
It conveyed that all concerned to remain alert over the gambit of 'India government' to disintegrate the people.
It further appealed all communities of the state to show unity and harmony of the hill and valley people amidst the divisive policy of India.
The RPF and the PLA wish the observance of Mera Houchongba knitted an attractive garland of social harmony weaved by all hearts of all communities of the state.
