Addressing a press meet held at KSA office here on Thursday, Association secretary (publicity) Toijam Ranakumar observed that NEP 2020 has been implemented in almost all the other states of the country, but not in Manipur.
There has been a steady show of preparations for implementation but no real efforts have been made at the ground level.
The previous 10+2 structure of school education needs to undergo a new pedagogical & curriculum restructuring pertaining to the 5+3+3+4 restructure of NEP 2020.However, the state government's "intentional" delay in implementing NEP 2020 has left the student community restless, he remarked.

Meanwhile, a committee comprising different departments holding key roles in various universities and educational institutions of the state should work together to implement a multi disciplinary education system, in addition to forming curriculum framework (general education and professional education) so as to implement the Choice Base Credit System (CBCS) in all higher education institutions of the state.
Appealing to the authorities concerned for establishing a Teacher Education University to broaden the scope of teacher's education in the state; the secretary stressed the need for teachers and staff of school and higher education to undergo regular trainings for continuous professional development, for which the state government should increase the budget on education.
He further appealed to the media (electronic and print) of the state to reserve a column for topics related to education.
The government should also take up all necessary steps required for allowing students to engage in economy and social reformation so as to prepare them for future global exposure.
