TPR rises above 1 pc, 11 new cases detected

After 10 days, the daily test positivity rate rose above 1 per cent on Saturday as government bulletins reported 11 new positive cases out of 886 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 1.24 per cent positivity rate against 0.55 per cent reported on Friday.
No death cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the toll stands at 2120 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people of which 61 had received second doses of Covid vaccine.
In the last 24 hours, 4 patients were discharged from JNIMS (1) and CCCs (3) .
Number of active cases rose to 40 out of which 10 (25 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 298 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 146 in RIMS.
Out of the 16 districts, only six reported fresh Covid cases on Saturday.
So far, the state has recorded 11,293 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 298 new positive cases and 8 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 41 and 0 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 11 fresh cases (5 male & 6 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at other testing centres (11).The positive cases are from Imphal East (3), Imphal West (1), Bishnupur (2), Thoubal (2), Senapati (2) and Tengnoupal (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,081 (general population -1,32,067 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,921 (general population - 1,29,915 and CAPF personnel - 5,006) and number of active cases is 40 (general population - 39 and CAPF personnel - 1) .
The recovery rate is 98.42 per cent.
A total of 281 D-type and 97 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 1772 vaccine doses were administered on Friday.
It took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,32,821, out of which 11,77,840 had received second doses and 65,146 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,703), Imphal East (30,419), Thoubal (10,148), Churachandpur (11,049), Kangpokpi (3128), Tamenglong (3478), Bishnupur (9824), Senapati (2491), Ukhrul (3269), Kakching (6887), Chandel (2716), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1199), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (704), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (189), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,177 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,652 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,15,330 tests per million population against the national average of 5,59,907 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate came down to 8.57 per cent.
