Divisional Forest Officer of Kangpokpi Division N Ganesh has informed that trekking at the pilgrimage sites of Mt Koubru may be carried out only after taking due permission from them.
In a press statement, the DFO said that those interested in trekking at Mt Koubru should submit a duly filled up application addressed to the DFO Kangpokpi along with a copy of Aadhaar/driving license/voter card/PAN.
The application form is available at Koubru base camp and Mangjol, it said and appealed to all applicants to approach the office of the DFO three working days before the date of trekking to take approval.
The order has been issued keeping in mind the fire incidents that were reported, the causes of which are attributed to camping, picnicking, trekking expedition, gathering etc, the DFO added.
