World Sight Day observed

To observe World Sight Day, Shija Eye Care Foundation in association with Lions Club of Imphal Chanura organized a comprehensive eye camp at Paonam Pakaleima Public School, Kiyam today, a statement informed.
About 120 people were examined for eye related problems at the camp of which 12 were diagnosed with cataract , 10 with pterygium and one with squint.
Dr Sarda Ch, Consultant Ophthalmologist along with other supporting staff of Shija Eye Care Foundation examined the patients.
Also, a team of experts from Shija Eye Care Foundation conducted a eye screening camp at Kids Foundation, Imphal, in association with Lions Club of Imphal Leimarol.
Before the screening, teachers were taught simple techniques on how to detect eye problems.
Altogether, 546 students were screened at the camp out of which 131 students were detected with refractive errors and other eye related problems.
On the other hand, a free eye-care camp will be organised in connection with Lions World Sight day at Lions Eye Hospital of Lions Club of Imphal, tomorrow, a statement informed.
