Legal Aid Clinic opened

N Kotiswar, Justice High Court of Manipur today inaugurated the State’s 30th Legal Aid Clinic at the office of Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights, old Guwahati High court complex.
The opening function of the Legal Aid Clinic was organized by the Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) and Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Right (MCPCR).
The opening function was attended by Justice N Kotiswar, Judge High Court of Manipur and Executive Chairman (MASLSA), RK Memcha, member secretary (MASLSA), S Saratkumar Sharma, Chairman MCPCR and RK Kumarjit, State Commissioner for Persons with Disability as presidium members.
Justice N Kotiswar said that the Legal Aid Clinic inaugurated today at MCPCR office was the 30th legal aid clinic in the State. The first Legal Aid clinic in the State was inaugurated by the then Supreme Court Chief Justice Altamas Kabir at Cheirap Court complex He said that the Legal Aid Clinics have been opened to provide free legal service to needy and poor people and those who are in disadvantageous position.
