Imphal, October 13 2016:
The Manipur Electricity Employees’ Union ( MEEU ) has appealed to the State Government to regularise tall work charge and muster roll employees of the Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) and Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited ( MSPDCL ) before the election code of conduct comes into effect.
Speaking to mediapersons at their Keishampat office today, MEEU general secretary Yumnam Ranapratap said that there 305 work charge and 38 muster roll employees in MSPCL and MSPDCL.
Before the State Power Department was bifurcated into MSPCL and MSPDCL, MEEU approached the Chief Minister with an appeal to regularise all the work charge and muster roll employees.
Subsequently, a screening committee was constituted at the instruction of the Chief Minister with MSPDCL Managing Director R Sudan as chairman, Ranapratap said.
But MEEU is afraid that the election code of conduct may come into effect before the process of service regularization is completed, he added.
