National integration tour to Delhi-Agra-Jaipur

Imphal, October 10 2017:
A National Integration Tour is being organised by Tamenglong Battalion under the aegis of Senapati Brigade of Red Shield Division to foster the spirit of National integration from September 29 to October 14 .
According to a statement issued by the PRO Defence, Imphal, the tour comprising of 20 school students and two teaching staff from Tamenglong dist visited various cultural and historical places in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur .
The tour was flagged off from Tamenglong on September 29 by Samuel Jendai, MLA of Tamenglong AC along with Commandant Tamenglong Battalion .
National Integration tour is being organised with the aim to provide an insight into the rich heritage of the country as well as various development and industry initiatives that are underway, it said .

The team started their journey from Tamenglong to Dimapur (Nagaland) by road and further moved by train to Agra.
The NIT team reached Agra on October 3 and visited Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Sikandra Tomb, Agra Market .
The NIT team further moved to Jaipur the Pink City on October 5 and visited Jaipur Zoo, Amer Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Birla Temple and Jantar Mantar.
The NIT team moved to New Delhi on October 7 wherein they visited Red Fort, Jama Masjid, India Gate, Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar .
A visit to Rastrapati Bhawan was also organised on October 9.During the visit the students had the opportunity to meet and interact with the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.
The President offered words of wisdom to the students and asked them to take full opportunity of the tour.
The NIT team will be returning to Tamenglong on October 14, it added.
