Medical camp, 'Maitri Van' established at Keize

Imphal, October 10 2017:
Maram Battalion of Senapati Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division conducted a medical camp at Kieze village, Senapati district on Oct 9 .
According to a statement issued by PRO Defence, Imphal, the camp was conducted by RMO along with medical team of 34 Assam Rifles.
The camp was organised with the intention of providing the best medical care and assistance to the locals in remote location .
A lecture on health awareness was also delivered, in which emphasis was laid upon maintenance of hygiene and sanitation as well as preventive measures against various deadly diseases.
A total of 70 people (23 male, 36 female and 11 children) were treated and provided free medicines at the camp.
The occasion was also utilized to establish " MAITRI VAN " – A Tata 407 vehicle based mob platform for dissemination of info and spreading awareness regarding employment opportunities for the youth, schemes for ESM, Govt facilities/schemes for locals and provide various other facilities to the villagers.
During the event National flag was hoisted followed by screening of a movie.
A library was also est at the venue.
Flex boards/notice boards highlighting job notifications, upcoming rect rallies for enrolment in Army and AR were also displayed.
A volley ball match was organized for the youth followed by refreshments.
At the end feedback was sought from the people and a response sheet was prepared.
The MAITRI VAN will strengthen the efforts of the Battalion in reaching out to the local population, it said.
