RaGa tries to woe Manipur voters in 12 minutes

Vice-President of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Rahul Gandhi addressed a mass gathering of about one and half lakh people for just 12 minutes during an election rally held at Wangjing Kodompokpi Ground on March 19 .
Donned in jean trousers and kurta, the Gandhi scion landed at Tulihal International Airport in a special flight.
He then flew to Wangjing Kodompokpi Ground in a helicopter.
Rahul addressed the rally in English for about 12 minutes, which was then translated into Manipuri by sitting MP of Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Dr T Meinya.
Speaking at the rally, the Congress Vice-President said that the Indian National Congress is a secular and pro-people political party.

The party is committed to bring overall development in the country.
Manipur has seen so many development works under the Congress Government ever since its statehood.
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) is in the process of upgragation to the level of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Manipur University has already been converted into a Central University, he said.
Rahul further stated that the Congress Government is also taking up various other projects for setting up of Special Economic Zones, IT Parks, Railway project and Rajiv Gandhi University in the State.
Dwelling on the law and order issue of the State, Rahul Gandhi said that the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) has been repealed from seven assembly segments of the State and more than 400 militants belonging to different outfits have joined the mainstream by signing the Suspension of Operation (SoO) .
The election rally was also attended by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, Ministers and MLAs of the Congress Party.
