Imphal, March 21 2014 :
Former Secretary of All India Mahila Congress (Assam.
Meghalaya, Tripura and West Bengal) Poonam Rani Wangkhem has lodged a written complaint with IGP (Law and Order) Clay Khongsai against Traffic Control Police DSP Victoria Yengkhom for assault, indecency and arrogance.
Speaking to media persons here this evening, Poonam Rani Wangkhem said that she filed a written complaint to the police higher authority against the alleged haughty attitude and disrespect shown by a responsible Government servant.
Poonam Rani and her daughter were heading for Imphal from Nongchup Keithelmanbi in a Honda CRV car along with a bodyguard.
Near Gambhir Singh Sopping Arcade along BT Road, a team of Traffic Police led by DSP Victoria were undertaking a drive of removing tinted glasses from four-wheelers.
It was around 12.30 pm.
On seeing them, Poonam Rani's driver and the bodyguard pulled up the vehicle and talked with a young MPS officer.
As permitted by the MPS officer, the driver started driving the car, DSP Victoria shouted in a harsh and offensive voice forcing the driver to pull up the vehicle for the second time.
Poonam Rani said that her car has in-built black glass and it is not a case of fixing black films.
"I would not mind if was asked to pay Rs 100 for a TR", she said.
It is not the question of using tainted glass or otherwise.
What is outrageous is Victoria offensive words and haughty attitude.
It seems she has forgotten the fact that she is a Government servant, Poonam Rani said After sometime, Victoria asked Poonam Rani's driver to board her Gypsy.
As Poonam Rani tried to intervene, she was scratched by the DSP causing injury on the hand.
Later, Victoria shouted in a harsh voice "All right, go," and shut the car's door with a bang.
