Kim Gangte lashes out at Congress, reaches out to women folk

Imphal, March 21 2014 : Lashing out at Congress party for swindling huge amounts of money sanctioned for different schemes and projects without ever letting them reach hill people, Trinamool Congress candidate Kim Gangte has asserted that it's time for female voters to expose the wrongdoings of Congress party and teach them a befitting lesson.

Addressing a public rally at Saikul till town, Kim Gangte said that during the past 10 years of Congress rule in both the State and the Centre, the level of disparity has widened tremendously.

When the Government cannot see all the people with the same eyes, one cannot expect peace or harmony.

Highlighting the difficulties and grievances being endured by hill people, Kim Gangte remarked that development is still a far cry in the hill districts.

Many pregnant women die on the way to hospital because of the tortuous conditions of roads in the hill districts.

Educational institutions which otherwise would serve as fountainhead of human resource development are total flops.

Time is over for discrimination and subjugation of women.

Given the huge responsibility shared by women in the civilizational progress of mankind, it is crucial for womenfolk to participate in electoral politics.

Kim Gangte said that her party is determined to alleviate women's position in the society and work collectively towards restoration of peace.

Trinamool Con- gress has no faith in quota system and in case the party comes to power, it would work to abolish all such systems.

Quota system only breeds room for corruption.

It is not advisable to make an unfit person fit using quota system, she asserted.

Questioning where the Congress MPs used their funds and asking if they have done any significant work for the public, the former MP suggested all the people to accept money if the Congress party offers but not to vote for them.

Trinamool Congress legislature wing leader Dr I lbohalbi stated that Congress party would be seated on the Opposition bench after the Parliamentary election.

In the absence of equitable distribution of development funds, the number of marginalised section has been increasing every year, he further claimed.

He also appealed to the gathering to elect the TMC candidate in order to bring some revolutionary changes in the hill districts.
