Imphal, April 04 2019:
Categorically asserting that both BJP and Congress are two sides of the same coin, CPI has said that electing any of the two to power would bring nothing positive but massive swindling of public money.
Speaking to media persons at Irabot Bhavan here today, CPI Manipur State Council secretary L Sotinkumar noted that BJP has been charging rival candidates as loan defaulters and criminals while Congress has been charging BJP candidates as pro-rich criminals.
These charges and counter charges only revealed that BJP and Congress are two sides of the same coin, he said.
With more and more people learning about the true colours of both Congress and BJP, the number of people who have acknowledged the Left Secular Front candidate Dr M Nara's clean politics as well as the number of people who have pledged support to the CPI leader has increased dramatically, Sotinkumar claimed.

Given this scenario, CPI is confident that Dr Nara would certainly emerge victorious this time, he asserted.
Whereas CPI has already launched a door to door campaign, Dr Nara has been interacting with the masses, particularly youth so as to understand their problems and aspirations.
People's growing support for CPI and its candidate are reflected unmistakably in these campaigns, Sotinkumar said.
CPI always took key roles in many major issues of the State such as the border pillar issue, issue of territorial integrity, Manipur University crisis, CAB 2016 etc and the party would continue to take leading roles in tackling any public issue, said the CPI secretary.
He said that since BJP formed Government at the Centre, it has been actively pursuing several policies all aimed at making India a Hindu Nation under their Hindutva ideology.
This is glaringly reflected in BJP president Amit Shah's statement that CAB 2016 would be brought back if BJP is re-elected to power.
As BJP always favours privatisation and corporate houses, it would privatise all institutions of the country in case it is re-elected, Sotinkumar said while appealing to all the people to choose the right candidates.
He also demanded high level enquiries by an independent body into the daring escape of under trial prisoner Th Nando and the drug scandal involving BJP's former Chandel ADC Chairman Loukhosei Zou.
He further appealed to all the voters to be wary of those elements who have a tendency to take recourse to excessive muscle power and money power at the time of elections.
To a query if the CPI's vote share would be affected by the emergence of independent candidates and candidates belonging to regional parties, Sotinkumar said that those candidates representing regional parties are former Congress men who defected to the regional parties after they were denied Congress tickets.
As such, it is the Congress party's vote share which would be affected.
On the other hand, the regional party and independent candidates would give CPI an advantageous position, Sotinkumar added.
