Martyred BSF Inspector laid to rest with full military honours

The BSF inspector who was martyred in Pakistani shelling on April 1 was laid to rest at his native village at Tuaitengohai, Churachandpur district with full military honours today.
Inspector Alex Lalminlun Tungnung, s/o Khupkholam posted with 168 Battalion BSF along with a girl and a woman embraced martyrdom on April 1 in Pakistani shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC).
His mortal remains arrived at the State capital yesterday wherein the military top brass accorded a befitting reception.
Subedar Major Anoop Kumar from his parent Battalion accompanied the body of the late Inspector from J&K.MKT Simte Second in Command, STC BSF, T Douminlian, Assistant Commandant and Robin Toijam Asst Commandant personally carried the casket at the airport and brought it to his native village.
The cavalcade carrying his mortal remains was accorded a military salute at all BSF outposts located along the route while students and teachers of the school he once served as a teacher also paid tributes at their school.
The local community also paid a befitting reception on his arrival.
At the funeral today, BSF troops lined up with full arms from Rengkai road till Tuaitengphai village via Rengkai- Muolvaiphei- Saikot- Khawpuibung- Muolbem- Dumsau- Tuaitengphai as a mark of respect to their comrade.
The funeral which offered full military Gun Salute was attended by senior officers from STC BSF CCpur, 113 BN BSF and from Sector HQ BSF Imphal.
