Imphal, September 10 2013:
Even as counselling for admission in MBBS/BDS courses has been done after State nominees were selected based on the NEET results in concurrence with an order of the Manipur High Court, examination fees collected from aspiring candidates for the aborted State PMT earlier scheduled on June 9 this year have not been reimbursed till date.
According to a source in the Directorate of Health Services, officials concerned have so far not spoken a single word about reimbursement of the examination fees.
Altogether 5756 students collected forms for the aborted PMT and the directorate collected Rs 40 lakhs as examination fee.
Out of Rs 40 lakh collected, Rs 23 lakh were spent on preparing for the entrance exam.
Earlier, Health Director A Bijoy announced through media that the examination fee collected from candidates for the aborted PMT would be reimbursed.
Although the concerned officials have been considering about counselling for the additional 10 MBBS seats and 18 BDS seats allotted to the State in JNIMS, the matter of reimbursing examination fee does not figure in the agenda, informed the source.
