State logs six fresh Covid cases

Imphal, March 23 2022:
The state on Wednesday reported only six new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 841 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering 0.71 per cent positivity rate against 0.83 per cent recorded on Tuesday.
The daily test positivity rate remains below 1 per cent for the last eight days.
No death cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the toll stands at 2120 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated persons of which 61 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 8 patients were discharged from home isolation (7) and RIMS (1) .
The number of active cases came down to 78 out of which 8 (10.26 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 296 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 118 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
So far, the state has recorded 11,269 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 274 new positive cases and 8 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 29 and 2 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 6 fresh cases (4 male & 2 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at JNIMS (2) and other testing centres (4) .
The positive cases are from Imphal West (1), Thoubal (3) and Tamenglong (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,057 (general population -1,32,043 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,859 (general population - 1,29,854 and CAPF personnel - 5,005) and number of active cases is 78 (general population - 76 and CAPF personnel - 2) .
The recovery rate is 98.40 per cent.
A total of 236 D-type and 111 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 1666 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 15,29,672, out of which 11,76,002 had received second doses and 64,663 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,696), Imphal East (30,415), Thoubal (10,143), Churachandpur (11,048), Kangpokpi (3128), Tamenglong (3477), Bishnupur (9822), Senapati (2489), Ukhrul (3269), Kakching (6887), Chandel (2716), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1198), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (704), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (189), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam(7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,169 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,651 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,14,345 tests per million population against the national average of 5,58,886 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 841 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 0.71 per cent while the cumulative rate came down to 8.59 per cent.
