CRPF's 71st Annv celebration concludes

The 71st CRPF Anniversary Celebration which began last week has concluded today with various sporting events, blood donation camp and multi-cultural programmes organised at different posts of the force today.
The weeklong celebration concluded with a feast and cultural programme attended by the officers, SO's and Jawan's of the force at Group Centre CRPF, Langjing.
M.S.Raghava (DIGP) Imphal Range, who was the chief guest of the function recounted the glorious history and achievements of the force.
He said that CRPF is not only the largest paramilitary force but the sacrifices made by its troops and the achievements of the force are also unparalled.
The anniversary celebration was also organized at the unit HQ of 69 Battalion CRPF at mantripukhri, Imphal.
A blood donation camp was held to mark the celebration.
Commandant, 69 battalion CRPF, U.B.Mishra, formally opened the blood donation camp.
Mention may be made that the security coverage to transporters along the Imphal- Dimapur section of NH-39 is being provided under the overall supervision of the battalion, whose personnel are also being deployed at strategic locations along the Imphal- Jiribam section of NH-53, for safeguarding commercial goods carriers and other public transportations.
A press release of the battalion stated that the CRPF was raised at Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh in the year 1939, as Crown's Representative Police which was later rechristened as Central Reserve Police Force by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel after India's independence.
Over the years, the force has grown from a single battalion to 213 battalions.
