Imphal, October 14 2014:
United Revolutionary Front (URF) has cautioned the State Government that it would target Congress workers and leaders if their arms and ammunition deposited at the time of inking Suspension of Operation (SoO) are not returned at the earliest.
In a press statement, URF chairman Lanheiba Meitei said that the outfit decided to back out of the SoO pact as the party had understood the deceit of the Government.
Lambasting Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who also holds the Home portfolio, Lanheiba Meitei questioned whether he has done anything tangible for the welfare of the cadres of URF after the outfit entered into SoO agreement.
Contending that not even a single point raised by the outfit was taken for consideration, Lanheiba said that all the steps, which were put into effect, were one-sided and not conducive for a dialogue.
Saying that the Government never kept their promise, Lanheinba said that unarmed cadres were kept within the confines of four walls.
Although there is no justice under the current Government in the State, Lanheiba said, the Government must remember that URF has its own people's law court, which is capable to punish them.
The Government must also understand that URF never violated SoO ground rules but decided to pull back from the SoO agreement to save the revolutionary movement of the outfit.
In this regard, Lanheiba urged the people of the State to extend support and co-operation in their future endeavours.
