SHDDC and state government hold talks

The members of the SHDDC met the Chief Minister and discussed further on the already agreed points this afternoon.
The meeting decided to meet again after the visit of PM in Imphal and finalize on the issue later.
Ngamkhohao Haokip, President of SHDDC on its way out, after the meeting, told reporters that they have discussed minutely with the government on the already agreed points.
The government has assured that the demand of the SHDDC will be agreed upon after the reports of the District Re organization Committee submits its report.
Ngamkhohao in an astonishing statement said that the counter economic blockade imposed by United Naga United Naga Council (UNC) and All Naga Students' Association (ANSAM) should not be called off as it "yields a good support" to the demand of SHDDC.
Asked how come he made such appeal to UNC and ANSAM, he said the counter blockade of the Naga organizations has kept reminding the people about their demand for formation of Sadar Hills district.
The next round of talks between the State Government and SHDDC will take place soon after the visit of the Prime Minister, he added.
The deadline for submitting the reports of the District Re-Organisation Committee expired on November 25.Since there was a public hearing on that day and the PM will also be arriving shortly, the SHDDC have agreed to the proposal of the state government to finalise on their demands after the PM's visit was accepted by the Committee, he said.
The meeting was also attended by TN Haokip, Tourism Minister and Chairman of Hill Area Committee, Thangminlien Kipgen and General Secretary of SHDDC Tonghen Kipgen.
