Imphal, November 28 2011:
The meeting between a delegation of Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) and the Chief Minister O ibobi Singh ended without any concrete decision on the Sadar Hills issue.
speaking to newspersons, SHDDC president Ngamkhohao Haokip said the meeting was held in the presence of Information Minister TN Haokip and Hill Areas Committee Chairman Thangminlien Kipgen along with six members of the Committee.
stating that the meeting was intended to deliberate on the findings of the Government constituted Committee on Reorganisation of Police and District Boundaries as the three month period lapsed on November 25, Ngamkhohao confided that the Chief Minister suggested discussion of the said report at a later date due to hectic schedules of the Government in connection with the arrival of the Prime Minister and AICC chief Sonia Gandhi in December first week.

The Chief Minister reportedly conveyed that due to the Government officials pre-occupation with the high profile visit, the situation would not be conducive for a detailed deliberation on the Committee's report with regard to the creation of Sadar hills district.
Taking into account the Government's crammed schedule the SHDDC also took the stand that another meeting be held at a later date after the departure of Dr Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, Ngamkhohao informed.
When asked to comment on the United Naga Council deciding to suspend its agitation today, he wryly remarked that the UNC's counter-blockade had been partly responsible for the Government of Manipur recently reaching an agreement with the SHDDC to officially accept that demand for Sadar Hills district is a genuine case.
