Imphal, November 28 2011:
The proscribed UG group UNLF and its armed wing MPA in a press statement made available to the press condoled the death of CPI (Maoists) leader Commander Koteshwar Rao aka Kishenji on November 25 at Jhargam, West Bengal alleging that CRPF murdered him in a fake encounter.
UNLF further stated that Comrade Kishenji was a great revolutionary fighter who fought for 37 years for the poor and downtrodden masses who are deprived and oppressed by the India government.
He was a true revolutionary and stood by the genuine cause of the Manipuris, fighting to regain their lost sovereignty and independence after the force annexation into the Indian Union.
"UNLF shares the pain and sorrow of the bereaved family and Maoists comrades as well and expresses its solidarity at the loss of this great revolutionary leader" the statement added.
