Bodies of two missing URF cadres found buried

As suspected the bodies of two missing cadres of United Revolutionary Front (URF), an armed group which is under Suspension of Operation (SoO) with the Government, were found buried in the outfit's designated camp located inside the camp of 9th Dogra Regiment D-Coy at Loitang Khunou (Spinning Mill), Imphal today.
The bodies were exhumed by a police team today.
On May 6, following allegations of killing of two cadres of United Revolutionary Front (URF) and burying their bodies inside the URF designated camp; a search operation was conducted by a team of police.
But nothing could be found.
Nearly a month later, police carried out yet another search operation today and found the mortal remains of the two missing URF cadres buried.

The breakthrough came following the arrest of one of the URF cadres identified as Irengbam Gulapi alias Meitei of Kontha Ahallup under Heingang police station this morning from his home by the police.
Irengbam Gulapi revealed the details of the two missing URF cadres during the police interrogation.
Later in the afternoon at around 4:30 pm, a police team led by Additional SP (Imphal West district) in-charge of Law and Order L Birbabu rushed to the URF designated camp and broke the cemented structure inside the store-room and found the bodies buried underground.
Meanwhile, reports said that out of 60 URF cadres supposedly staying in the designated camp, only 15 cadres of URF were found present in the designated this evening.
The chairman of the outfit Kh Gopeshor alias Khelen alias Lanheiba of Keirenphabi under Moirang police station was also found out of station.
All the 15 cadres have been detained by the police for further interrogation to find mystery behind the murder and burial of the two cadres.
It may be recalled here that on March 19, 2014, a complaint was lodged at Sekmai police station by URF saying that two of its cadres identified as Irengbam Bode alias Washington (35), s/o (L) Biren of Awang Khunou, Imphal West district and Pukhrambam Somorjit (35), s/o Lakshman of Waheng Khuman under Nambol police station, Bishnupur district were missing the previous day.
After receiving some messages on her mobile phone, Sunita, wife of Bode, suspected that her husband might have been murdered and buried inside the URF camp.
So, she also filed a complaint to the Sekmai police on April 30 last month requesting to trace the dead body of her husband.
Following the complaint, the Sekmai police conducted the search operation inside the designated camp after due permission obtained from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the State Home Department and the District Magistrate, Imphal West.
The search operation was led by Additional SP (LO) of Imphal East, L.Birbabu and was also joined by SDPO Lamphel, Wungpam Kasar and a team led by Sekmai police Officer In-charge (OC) .
On that day, as no trace of human corpses could be found, forensic expert team continued the search by digging the earth outside the wall of the camp on the northern side.
Four camouflaged trousers believed to belong to the URF cadres of the camp were found lying in the drain adjacent to the campus wall about 20 metres apart to each.
In a suspicious manner, holes dug out from earth to enable passage to and fro from beneath the wall of the camp were also found during the search operation.
