Imphal, June 07 2020:
The members of Indigenous Youths' Association of Kangleipak (IYAK) yesterday donated blood at Thoubal District Hospital, Khangabok in connection with the association's 5th Foundation day.
The blood donation camp was organised under the theme "Ee Pishi, Thawai Kanshi", said a statement issued by IYAK.
The association was founded to uphold and preserve the rights of indigenous folks, the statement continued while adding that the association has been directly or indirectly contributing in development activities, be it in the field of education, health or economy.
"The State will become a peaceful one only when we have the best education system, health care system and stable socio-economic condition," said IYAK and further asserted the association members are firm in their stand and working relentlessly and will continue till the State achieve the mentioned goals.
The State, resided by many communities since time immemorial, had its own economy, cultural norms and Governance, said IYAK while urging all to indulge in developing work culture and become self reliant whether it is in the field of production or agricultural activities.
"We all should acknowledge the role of our farmers and workers considering their immense and selfless contributions", IYAK said.
IYAK also appealed to all indigenous communities to maintain and preserve their distinguished identities and join hands together to make a prosperous State.
IYAK also paid respect to the frontline workers who are making selfless efforts to treat the COVID-19 patients and contain further spread of the disease.
While promising to continue similar blood donation camps to help those in need, the association also sought support from all.
