Imphal, June 07 2020:
The proscribed KCP has categorically stated that WESEA has no place in the idea of India as envisaged by mainland Indians and this was testified by the rampant discrimination meted out to people from WESEA in mainland India.
A statement issued by the outfit's information and publicity secretary-in-charge alleged that the mainland Indians have been making the connotations of 'we' and 'they' clearer and clearer through their repeated acts of racism.
'We' means the people of mainland India while 'they' denotes the people of WESEA.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, people from WESEA are seen as the 'other', they were called names like corona and they were subjected to inhuman treatments like spitting and physical assault in different parts of mainland India, said the outfit.
"Such acts of segregation and discrimination imply that we, the people of WESEA are 'others' to mainland India and we are not Indians", it alleged.
People from WESEA were not even allowed to purchase grocery items in cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
Forget about being compatriots, mainland Indians do not see people from WESEA as fellow human beings.
Given these facts, it is totally misplaced if any one is thinking that people of WESEA and mainland India can live together.
There is not a single reason or premise on which India and WESEA can live together as one Nation, the outfit asserted.
